You can hardly make it through a day without hearing about a warning or suggestions about your health. Our society is consumed with all of the latest fads and strategies for doing as little as possible, eating as much as you desire, all while keeping the body of a supermodel. There are so many diets and health plans that can be found on the internet or in any publication that it becomes easy after a while to just overlook everything you read. Do this. Don’t do that. Very often, one piece of advice will contradict the other making it difficult to figure out what is accurate. However, one recommendation that you cannot afford to overlook is about drinking water.

Drinking water is one the most simple, easy to follow, and essential pieces of health advice that you’ll ever hear. Take the advice seriously. Drinking water is definitely important to your life for a variety of reasons. Since our bodies are made up of such a high percentage of water in the first place, it only makes sense that drinking water would benefit our bodies in large magnitude.

Why Drinking Water Matters

Consuming water is a great way to purify our bodies from much of the contaminants and impurities that make their way into our systems with each meal we consume and through the air we breathe. There is no better method to regularly cleanse your body and keep your digestive system working correctly than drinking water.

There are a vast array of ideas out there about how much water you need to drink each day. The easiest and best analysis I have discovered is to take your current weight and divide it in half. This is your magic number of ounces for drinking water every day. So, for example, a female weighing 150 pounds need to drink the number that is half her weight, or 75, in ounces of water every day.

Does that sound impossible? Consuming water might be tough initially if you aren’t used to it. Begin by finding yourself a large water bottle that holds an appreciable amount. Fill it up each morning and bring it with you during the day. When you get thirsty, choose water instead of selecting your preferred pop or coffee. The more you drink water, the more your body will crave it. The process of getting adequate water into your body will end up being a habit in no time.

One question you might be asking is “How do I keep all that water cold?” Fortunately, there are many products on the market today which will allow you to keep a substantial amount of water nearby which will remain as cold as you like it. You can do your own research and pick the one you like best. Try to find a model which can keep a volume at or near your daily requirement. That way, you can minimize the amount of time needed to refill your cup and not give your boss a reason to transition into the ranks of the unemployed!

There are many other fantastic reasons to start drinking water. However, if you are like me, you’ve heard them all a minimum of ten times. All that is left for you to do is begin making the drinking of water your own personal habit. Start drinking water for your health and fitness. Your body will thank you.
